EPL Top Goals Scorers and Top Assists 2024/25 Predictions and Odds:

Alexander Isak Premier League Top Goal Scorer (+1600 each way)

It is no surprise that Erling Haaland is the favorite in the top EPL goal scorer market, but he is unbackable at -138. That does mean we can pick up some nice each-way value elsewhere.

The Norwegian has smashed in 63 goals in 66 Premier League appearances but did suffer a drop off last term of nine goals from his debut campaign and played in four fewer games. Could we see further regression this season? It is possible with an expanded Champions League format, and with Julián Álvarez sold to Atlético Madrid, Haaland could see a greater risk of injury or more rotation to ensure his availability for the bigger games.

Manchester City’s number 9 didn’t have things all his way last term. He needed a sprint finish of seven goals in the final five games to shake off his rivals and secure a second Golden Boot.

One of those rivals was Alexander Isak, who looks great each-way value to me at +1600. He averaged 0.8 goals per 90 minutes last season, with only Haaland among those players who featured regularly being able to better that.

Since arriving in England, the Swedish international has scored 31 goals in 52 league appearances; 21 came in the last campaign, and we can expect him to kick on further. Isak has established himself as the main striker now ahead of Callum Wilson and should get plenty of service from a Newcastle side that were hit by a crippling injury list last term as well as having the distraction of European soccer.

The 24-year-old should get more game time, given there is no need for Eddie Howe to rotate with only the league to focus on and will be on penalty-taking duty. Isak also benefits from Sweden’s failure to qualify for the European Championship over the summer, so he should be fully recharged.

Each-way pays the first four places, which would have cashed for Isak backers last year—only Haaland and Cole Palmer scored more than him. Palmer’s total of 22 goals did include nine penalties which is a number it would be surprising to see repeated this time around.

EPL Pick: Alexander Isak Premier League Top Goal Scorer at +1600 (each way).

Dominic Solanke Premier League Top Goal Scorer (+2000 each way)

Those of you who have read my EPL winner and props preview will have seen that I fancy Tottenham to finish in the top four. A large part of my reasoning is the recent potential record signing of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.

Having had fruitless spells at Chelsea and Liverpool at the beginning of his career, his move to the Cherries paid dividends. After signing for the club in 2019, the 26-year-old hit 72 goals in 199 appearances with 29 of those coming as he fired his side to promotion to the Premier League in 2022.

Last season saw Solanke’s best tally in the top flight as he bagged 19 goals for Andoni Iraola’s mid-table side. Working with the Spanish coach brought the best out of the England international as it marked a massive improvement on the six strikes he managed in the season prior.

Now at the top of the pitch in an Ange Postecoglou side, he can break the 20-goal barrier. Although his new manager insists Solanke is no replacement for Harry Kane, he will take the central striker role, which saw Heung-min Son become a square peg in that particular round hole last season.

Tall and quick with more than a fair amount of skill, Solanke could score a bucket load of goals in this Spurs side. Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner all offer service from wide areas supplemented by marauding fullbacks Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie, while an on-form James Maddison is one of the best in the league at creating chances from central areas and set pieces.

With most of those players and Solanke enjoying the summer off, the Spurs can hit the ground running. If they remain injury-free, I would be shocked if their new striker doesn’t score at least 20 goals this season.

EPL Pick: Dominic Solanke Premier League Top Goal Scorer at +2000 (each way).

Kai Havertz Premier League Top Goal Scorer (+3300 each way)

I was shocked to see the main striker of the team I expect to win the title priced at +3300. But that is the case with Kai Havertz of Arsenal.

The German international started last season in the Gunners’ midfield, but in a combination of luck and judgment, he ended it as the focal point of their attack. He scored four goals in the last five games of the season to end with a total of 13. Nine of which coming in the last 14 Premier League fixtures with his confidence fully restored. If he continues at this pace in the new campaign, we will see this price crash.

Mikel Arteta knows what Havertz brings to his side. It’s not just goals but also an incredible work rate and the ability to link the play. He was also utilized as the main striker for Germany in the European Championship, where he scored twice in his five outings.

The 25-year-old caught my eye in the pre-season defeat of his former club Bayer Leverkusen. In the first half he played in midfield to allow Gabriel Jesus some game time and promptly assisted the opening two goals. Switched to a striking role in place of Jesus for the second half, Havertz completed the scoring for Arsenal in a 4-1 win. Two goals in two summer outings suits me fine!

EPL Pick: Kai Havertz Premier League Top Goal Scorer at +3300 (each way).

Cole Palmer Premier League Top Assists (+900 each way)

It’s another year of transition for Chelsea, but one thing they hope will not change is the form of Cole Palmer. The former Manchester City man enjoyed a stunning breakthrough season last term, with a phenomenal 33 direct goal involvements in the Premier League, 22 goals and 11 assists.

That form continued into the summer for England at the European Championship. Despite managing just 145 minutes of action the 22-year-old provided the assist for Ollie Watkins late winner in the semifinal against Netherlands, before climbing off the bench in the final to stroke home an exquisite equalizer from just outside the box.

Palmer worked with new manager Enzo Maresca at Manchester City, so he will be familiar with his ideas and will unsurprisingly be a key ingredient to the new style, which, of course, is heavily influenced by Pep Guardiola. We saw how important the wide players are in a Maresca team last season when he guided Leicester to the Championship title.

Stephy Mavididi scored 12 goals and provided six assists from his wide left berth. Issahaku Fatawu scored six goals but amassed an impressive 13 assists from the right. A position Palmer could well fill.

If Palmer could replicate that number for Chelsea, he would have every chance of cashing a ticket for us in the most assists market at odds of +900. Thirteen has been the magic number in two of the last three seasons.

Last season’s tally was only beaten by Ollie Watkins, who massively overperformed to his data, with his 13 assists coming from only 11 “big chances” created. Kevin De Bruyne is the favorite, with Palmer rated next best, but he offers much greater value. Uncertainty still swirls around Manchester City. Although it appears the Belgian will start the season in sky blue it would not surprise me to see the rumors of an exit to the Saudi league resurface in January.

EPL Pick: Cole Palmer Premier League Top Assists at +900 (each way).
