The US Open is now a matter of weeks away, which means tennis season is really heating up. There have been a lot of big tournaments over the last couple of weeks, and VSiN is here to provide you with tennis best bets on everything that’s left before we get to Flushing Meadows. With that in mind, keep reading to get my picks for Monday, August 14th. This week, the focus is on the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. I’ll look to make picks on both the men and the women, and I’ll probably be adding more to these columns each day. Sebastian Korda vs. Borna Coric

Korda hasn’t played his best tennis over the last couple of months, but the American will have the crowd in his corner in this meeting with Coric. This is a relatively even match on paper, but the extra adrenaline should do Korda some good here. And Coric is a player that is really lacking in confidence right now, as the Croatian lost in straight sets to Aleksandar Vukic in Toronto last week. Coric is now just 18-17 on the season, and he is just 2-6 in his last eight matches. With that in mind, I’d like to see him start winning before I can believe he is capable of beating a player of Korda’s caliber. The second serve has been a real point of weakness for Coric, and Korda will attack it whenever he gets a chance. This might not be an easy result for Korda, but I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t get the win.

Bet: Korda ML (-155 – 2 units)

Daniel Evans vs. Lorenzo Musetti

After winning the Citi Open in Washington, Evans went to Toronto and was ousted in the first round. But that wasn’t all that surprising when you factor in fatigue, both physically and emotionally. Now, Evans is better rested and ready to go in Cincinnati. And I have a hard time believing he’ll let this one slide against Musetti. This is going to be played under the lights, where Evans always brings his best tennis. And I just trust him a bit more in a big hard-court match right now, as he’s a feisty player and badly wants to continue having some success heading into the US Open. Look for Evans to force Musetti to hit some tough shots because of his use of the backhand slice. But Evans’ aggression should also be big here. He has been ripping his forehand over the last couple of weeks, and I see him moving Musetti all around the court.

Bet: Evans ML (+110 – 3 units)
