A holiday weekend of baseball wraps up today with a rare treat for bettors — three Sunday night games.

VSiN MLB analyst Greg Peterson has five Best Bets, including these for the Pirates-Mariners matchup (4:05 p.m. ET):

Mariners starter George Kirby has rounded into form after a rough return from the injured list. While he owns a 4.85 ERA overall, he has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his past five starts. He faces a Pirates lineup averaging fewer than 3.1 runs per game on the road—the worst mark in the National League. Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes has been dominant with a 2.03 ERA, allowing just 5.8 hits and 0.4 home runs per nine innings, both of which lead qualifying NL starters.

Picks: Mariners Moneyline +101 and Under 7 Runs (Greg’s Handicap: Mariners -113, Total: 6.4).

ESPN has a Sunday night doubleheader: Cards-Cubs (6:10 ET) and Rangers-Padres (9:10), plus the Giants and A’s play at 10:05.

Steve Makinen and Josh Appelbaum will file their daily contributions later this morning.

VSiN.com managing editor Adam Burke will do a preview of the Sunday finale by mid-day.

NASCAR Best Bets

Makinen has posted his final simulation for today’s NASCAR race on the streets of downtown Chicago (2 p.m. TNT).

After grabbing the pole, Shane Van Gisbergen has become a heavy favorite on the final simulation for the Grant Park 165. He won the first race two years ago and also took the most recent road course race in the series by 17 seconds, so bet against him at your own risk.

His simulation average finish was 4.0, his next closest competitor was at 7.6. That said, his next five closest projected drivers are well known road course aces, with Michael McDowell shooting up into the runner-up position after a great day on the course on Saturday.

There are some nice underdog options, but I’m just not confident they will have what it takes to turn back SVG, assuming of course his equipment holds up. Here are my projections for the race:

Top 5: SVG, Bell, Larson, Bowman, Beuscher

Top underdogs to consider: McDowell, Gibbs, Hocevar, Preece, Allmendinger, Wallace

Favorites to struggle: Hamlin, Logano, Blaney
