Scottie Scheffler will tee off today at 9:30 a.m. ET with a four-stroke lead over Haotong Li in the final round of the British Open.

I’m not going to recommend a play on Rory McIlroy (20-1), Haotong Li (25-1), Matt Fitzpatrick (28-1) or anyone else. There might be a chance to bet something live if Scottie unexpectedly slips up. I will look to play a matchup on Shane Lowry, a former British winner who has had a disappointing week. The grumpy old Irishman won’t quit and will be playing for pride Sunday.

Steve Makinen has posted his final simulation without much help because of the weather at Dover.
With practice and qualifying rained out on Saturday, the lineup for Sunday’s Cup Series race at Dover was set by formula. Chase Elliott was placed on the pole and also came out on top of the final simulation accordingly. He is followed by Chase Briscoe, Denny Hamlin, William Byron, and Christopher Bell. All but Hamlin are starting in the top 5.
Dover is one of the few tracks on the circuit that boasts an A-level handicap-ability grade, so the races here have been historically predictable using statistical methods. However, the lack of practice and qualifying today could minimize that advantage. That said, the top TRACK RATING drivers in my simulation are Kyle Larson, Hamlin, Alex Bowman, & Ross Chastain so I wouldn’t discount any of them. Also, I wouldn’t overlook Ryan Blaney, who was on top of the initial simulation on Tuesday but dropped to 9th after being placed 31st on the starting grid.

Top 5: Hamlin, Elliott, Larson, Reddick, Blaney
Top underdogs to consider: Gibbs, Chastain, Beuscher, Busch, Cindric
Favorites to struggle: Briscoe, Bell, Logano
