Today we will christen the new VSiN studio in the just-opened Circa sportsbook at The Mint Kentucky Downs. VSiN By The Books hosts Dave Ross and Jensen Lewis will preside over the festivities, starting at 7 a.m. ET. Circa owner Derek Stevens and operations chieftain Mike Palm will be on hand in Franklin, Ky., to join the guys.
College Football Power Ratings
If you use power ratings in your college football handicapping, then you have come to the right place.
VSiN.com managing editor Adam Burke will start each week during the season with his updated power ratings. He explains how he changed his approach to compiling his preseason ratings this season and comes up with his own lines for the opening five games on Saturday.
Every week, Steve Makinen will produce three sets of power ratings using different ingredients. In this piece, he uses them to generate season win totals for every team. On this page, he applies his ratings to the Week 0 matchups and looks for value plays (indicated by the star).
We’ll publish Tyler Shoemaker‘s power ratings later today.
Check our Week 0 CFB Hub for everything we will post this week, including Tim Murray‘s reaction to the newly named Notre Dame starting QB on the VSiN College Football Betting Podcast.

$500 (or more) weekly prize for Average Joe Contest
I announced the Edge Boost Average Joe Contest in yesterday’s newsletter and we received tremendous response.
One aspect of the football pick’em contest that I wanted to highlight: A $500 deposit in an Edge Boost account goes to the weekly winner as determined by most points for that week’s selections.
And if the weekly winner has a current Edge Boost account, the prize will be boosted to a $1,000 deposit. Make sure you are eligible for the boost by signing up here using the promo code: VSiN. It’s free.

PGA Best Bets
VSiN golf analyst Wes Reynolds handicaps the Tour Championship in Atlanta with just 30 players competing for the $10 million winner’s check.
One of his three Best Bets is, um, ah, Tommy Fleetwood:
I’m ready to get hurt again.
Wes joins Matt Brown and Kelley Bydlon on Long Shots, VSiN’s golf betting podcast, as the guys run through their models and picks.
