Since the word of the day might be Journalism, let’s start with news from Churchill Downs:

>Another scratch: No. 10 Grande (20-1) was scratched on Friday with a cracked heel, so today’s Kentucky Derby field is down to 19. There were no more also-eligible horses after Baeza replaced Rodriguez.

>Weather: Rain is expected, especially early in today’s card, which starts at 11 a.m. ET. The track is likely to be wet at post time (6:57 p.m. ET) with sporadic showers and thunderstorms forecast for late afternoon and evening. That said, a “wet fast” track on Friday didn’t stop 6-5 favorite Good Cheer from winning the Oaks.
