Well, that was fun. At least for me and VSiN’s other resident Cubs fan, Dave Tuley.
Favorites took 3 out of 4 games on the opening day of the MLB Wild-Card round with the Red Sox scoring the only upset, 3-1 over the Yankees.
Three games went Under with the Dodgers routing the Reds 10-5 to go Over.

- Tigers (+110) at Guardians (-122), 1:08 p.m., ESPN. Cleveland up 1-0.
- Padres (+100) at Cubs (-112), 3:08 p.m., ABC. Chicago up 1-0.
- Red Sox (+153) at Yankees (-171), 6:08 p.m., ESPN. Boston up 1-0.

Ravens, 49ers take hits
The impact of the Ravens’ injuries to Lamar Jackson (hamstring) and their defense finally rippled through the betting market.
The visiting Texans flipped to the favorites for Sunday’s game to -1.5 at Circa from +3.5 at the start of the day. The Total is down to 39.5 from the lookahead of 45.5.
With the Ravens at 1-3, Jackson could be out for up to 2-3 weeks.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) is questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Rams, but hopes to play. Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle/shoulder/ribs) also didn’t practice Tuesday.
So it’s not a surprise that the Rams have moved from -3.5 as of Sunday night to -6.5 as of last night.
