Las Vegas was buzzing Friday night after the Golden Knights upset the Avalanche 3-1 to take a 2-0 lead on the NHL’s best regular-season team.

Thunder Send Message

We often hear “championship DNA” thrown around for no real reason. However, Friday night’s OKC victory over San Antonio was the very definition of it. The Spurs jumped out to a 15-0 lead in Game 3, and the crowd in the Frost Bank Center was going absolutely insane.

But the Thunder quickly chipped away, cutting the deficit to five by the end of the first quarter. From there, Oklahoma City slowly picked San Antonio apart. In the end, the Thunder — underdogs for the first time in 33 postseason games — earned a 123-108 victory.

Oklahoma City is suddenly looking like the better team in this series. In fact, if Victor Wembanyama didn’t drain an overtime triple from Curry range in Game 1, this might be 3-0 in favor of the Thunder by now. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is putting on a masterclass as a playmaker, the OKC bench has been fantastic, and Mark Daigneault is pushing all the right buttons.

It’ll now be interesting to see how San Antonio responds, but the Spurs look to be on the ropes — even with the Thunder playing without Jalen Williams.

Cavaliers Gear Up For Must-Win Game 3

On Saturday, we’ll essentially see an elimination game for Cleveland. No team in NBA history has come back from an 0-3 series deficit, which is what the Cavaliers are staring at in Game 3.

If there’s any silver lining, despite public support for New York on the VSiN betting splits pages, Cleveland is a bigger favorite than where this line opened. That suggests the sharps still have faith in James Harden and Co. for the second straight game.
