Sunday’s two Game 7s were short on drama.
The Pistons and Cavaliers both won and covered as 8.5-point favorites, setting up a second-round showdown in the East.
That means the second round is officially set.

🧠 Zach Cohen’s NBA Report: Sunday’s Game 7s
Both road teams played well in the first 24 minutes, but the cream rose to the top. The Pistons and Cavaliers both covered as 8.5-point favorites, and while upsets are always fun, this is the better outcome for bettors. Pistons-Cavaliers and Knicks-76ers should give us two highly competitive Eastern Conference semifinal matchups.

Philadelphia heads right back to work on Monday, opening its second-round series against New York after Saturday’s Game 7 win in Boston. Later in the night, Minnesota and San Antonio open their Western Conference semifinal series.
The big news in that late game: Anthony Edwards has been cleared to resume basketball activities and is now listed as questionable for Game 1.
Two days ago, we suggested playing Over 4.5 games in the series at -155. We also gave out Timberwolves +245 to win at least two games in the series. Those numbers have come down significantly, so hopefully you were able to grab them early.
I’m still not convinced Edwards actually plays in Game 1, as that feels a little short-sighted. But it’s looking more and more likely he’ll be available at some point in Minnesota’s first two home games. Game 2 is very much in play.

As Mike Somich pointed out on X, the Canadiens had nine shots on goal and the Avalanche scored nine goals — and both won on Sunday.
Montreal made those shots count in a 2-1 Game 7 win over Tampa Bay and now draws Buffalo in Round 2. Colorado opened its second-round series by beating Minnesota 9-6 in Game 1.
