The Big Game
Is today’s Eagles-Ravens game a Super Bowl sneak peek?
The Ravens are favored by 2.5 points (DraftKings) or 3 (Circa) for the late afternoon affair (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS).
VSiN host Matt Youmans makes the case for the Ravens:
Saquon Barkley is running into the MVP debate by leading the league with 1,392 rushing yards, including 255 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ blowout victory over the Rams last week. Philadelphia (9-2) has displayed defensive improvement, too, winning seven straight to turn into the team I picked to win the NFC over the summer. This may mean something or it could be an odd trend that means nothing in this specific matchup, but Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson owns a 23-1 record against NFC opponents. I’ll roll with Jackson and the Ravens’ No. 2-ranked run defense (77.9 ypg) in a battle that will be won on the ground.
VSiN.com senior reporter Dave “Dog or Pass” Tuley unsurprisingly makes the case for the Eagles:
As great as the Ravens (8-4) look at times, the Eagles (9-2) are actually playing better overall right now (No. 3 in total offense behind the No. 1 Ravens, but Philly is No. 1 in total defense while Baltimore is No. 24 and carried by the offense). I’m including the Eagles +9 in my teasers, but I’ll also take them plus the field goal as I have them favored on a neutral field (and regular readers know I’m not putting much stock in home-field advantage these days).
