As one might expect after the British Open, the 3M Open field isn’t exactly chock full of big names with only eight of the top 40 ranked golfers.

Chris Gotterup, who won the Scottish Open and finished third in the British, is among the favorites in the Twin Cities tournament: +1800 at DraftKings Sportsbook and +2200 at Circa.

Gotterup is not among Wes Reynolds’ seven outright Best Bets, but Michael Thorbjornsen (35-1) is:

Thorbjornsen has had some near-misses this season in pursuit of his first PGA Tour victory. Second at Corales, fourth at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Karl Vilips, and fourth at the Rocket Classic. Plus, he has gone 21st and 14th across his last two events. He has gone well in these Midwest low-scoring events with a runner-up at the John Deere last year and finishing just one shot out of the playoff in Detroit last month.

Scott, just wanted you to know that we’re using it tonight to celebrate Dave’s final days in Las Vegas. Co-host Jensen Lewis will come down from Cleveland when we christen the studio in August.

Circa Football Contests: I have it on good authority that another player will enter the Circa Grandissimo this weekend. That would make seven $100,000 entries in the inaugural high-stakes survivor contest — and it’s only July.
