Last night’s cocktail party at The D Las Vegas to kick off Contest Weekend was a who’s who of Circa champions and VSiN-connected glitterati. So the weekend is off to a strong start and we still have a day of drinking today and Mike Palm‘s football preview panel on Saturday (2-4 p.m. PT). If you can’t make it, we’ll broadcast the event on X @VSiNLive. Mike’s event, not the drinking. Live vicariously by watching the Circa Survivor: The Quest for $14.2 Million on the VSiN YouTube page. Need a proxy? Winners Circle Proxy is the official proxy for VSiN.

Aloha, Week 0

Tim Murray and Matt Youmans will be live from Hawaii for shows today and tomorrow.

Why, you ask?

1) Hawaii coach Tommy Chang invited Tim while he was here at Circa for Mountain West media day.

2) Matt was planning to be there anyway. As is his tradition, he went to Zippy’s straight from the airport:

Loco moco, teriyaki beef, Portuguese sausage and fried chicken are my top four menu items.

3) Most important: The owner of Na Hoku, Hawaii’s finest jewelers since 1924 with two locations in Las Vegas, was kind enough to sponsor the trip.

Plus late-night Hawaii games are very popular with sports bettors, so we are on the ground for the Rainbows’ opener vs. Stanford (+2.5) on Saturday.

Chang and QB Micah Alejado will be among the guests on VSiN PrimeTime (7-11 p.m. ET).

Before Tim left town, he sat down with The Godfather of VSiN, Brent Musburger, on the VSiN College Football Betting Podcast.  Brent covered some big bad beats in college football. >>Listen now.

Check our Week 0 CFB Hub for everything we we do this week, including Tyler Shoemaker‘s predictions based on his power ratings. Our new friends in Hawaii aren’t going to like one of them.

Still plenty of time to digest the VSiN College Football Betting Guide, 186 pages of previews and Best Bets. >>Download here.

Dave “Dog or Pass” Tuley, in additon to contributing to the aforementioned Wager Guide, offers his takes on Saturday’s card:

You know me. I’m not going to assume this is going to be a walkover for Sovereignty, as the connections of the other four 3-year-old colts have been aiming for this historic race as well and have to be emboldened because Saratoga has long had the title of “Graveyard of Favorites.” We also like that there’s a very strong undercard.

>>More from Dave, especially if you are looking to beat the Kentucky Derby champion, a 2-5 favorite.

Mike Somich and Aaron Halterman handicap the Travers Day races on the VSiN At The Track podcast. >>Listen. >>Watch.

“Mr. Ed” Sehonhas picks for today’s Saratoga card.
