By now you’ve heard the news: Heat guard Terry Rozier and Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups were arrested Thursday in connection with two separate (but overlapping) gambling-related indictments. Former NBA player Damon Jones was also arrested as part of both probes. One indictment focused on bettors using leaked inside information to make player prop wagers. The other indictment targeted underground poker games organized by the mob.

VSiN.com senior editor Zach Cohen has more details.

Other links I found enlightening:

>ESPN: Questions (and answers)

>The Wall Street Journal: On Billups’ alleged role in the poker games that used “James Bond tech” to cheat players. Examples: An X-ray table that could read face-down cards; special contact lenses that could spot marked cards.

>NY Post: The colorful backgrounds of the organized crime figures who were arrested and whom you probably don’t want to testify against.

Stay tuned: No doubt more will come out about the NBA probe — and the FBI indicated that the long-simmering college basketball point-shaving investigation is still pending.

Postscript: A month ago, I was told about a former NBA player in Las Vegas who might be interested in doing some analyst work for VSiN. The name? Damon Jones.

But one LA field goal with 2 minutes left and it was. The Chargers (-3.5) won 37-10 and the game went Over the closing Total of 45 (Circa) and 44.5 (DraftKings).
