WNBA Best Bets:
We are back! After what seemed like an eternal Olympic break from WNBA action, we are back in the saddle for three games on Thursday, and of course my T Shoe Index will have projections and daily bets for the rest of the season as we lead into football – which I will also be covering so make sure you have a VSiN subscription to never miss any of my projections and best bets.

Here are the projections for Thursday, August 15th:
Chicago Sky vs Phoenix Mercury
This is a sneaky good game to break in the back half of the season; on one hand, you’ve got Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter for the Sky who probably feel a little slighted that they weren’t involved in either the 5v5 or 3v3 women’s olympic basketball teams, and on the other hand, you’ve got Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Kahleah Copper returning as gold medal winners and probably dealing with some fatigue after playing several games and then only having a few days back in the US to recover from the long flight. The Mercury are 3-point favorites on the road with an Over/Under of 164.5 in this contest, while TSI projects Mercury -0.5 with a total of 166.5. I wouldn’t want to bet an over due to the long layoff (rust) and the aforementioned fatigue factor possible for Phoenix; however, I do love the spot for the Sky.
Bet: Sky +3 (Play to +2)
Minnesota Lynx vs Washington Mystics
The Mystics are finally healthy and probably benefited from the layoff as much as any team in the league since half their roster was injured leading into the break. Minnesota will be looking to get firing on all cylinders again with Napheesa Collier back in the lineup after dealing with a foot injury leading into the break. The Lynx are 8.5-point favorites with an Over/Under of 155.5 and TSI projects Minnesota -5.5 with a total of 155. It’s possible my numbers are a tad low on Minnesota due to the Collier injury kind of muddying the data a bit, so I’m going to hold off on a bet here but my lean would be to the Mystics +8.5
Lean: Mystics +8.5
Los Angeles Sparks vs New York Liberty
Speaking of teams who should be on alert for some fatigue and jet lag, how about the Liberty, whose stars Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart both were on team USA, and Sparks’ forward Dearica Hamby participated in the women’s 3v3 Olympic games.. Despite that, New York is laying 11 points on the road in LA with an Over/Under of 165.5. TSI favors New York by just 8.5 with a total of 161, and coupled with the rust and fatigue I’m expecting, I do love the Under here.
Bet: Under 165.5 (Play to 164)
