    College basketball best bets today

Four games are on the men’s basketball card for tonight, including two championship games. The CBI Championship Game between Seattle and High Point tips off at 5 p.m. ET and the CIT Championship Game between Fort Wayne and Norfolk State goes off at 7 p.m. ET. The other two games are in the NIT Quarterfinals.

The college basketball season is really winding down. After tonight, we’ll have three games in the NIT and 15 games left in the NCAA Tournament. Hopefully you’ve had a good season and have picked up on some different tips and tricks along the way. Pickings are slim with just four games tonight, but here’s a college basketball best bet for today.

Here is one college basketball best bet for today.

UNLV Runnin’ Rebels at Seton Hall Pirates (-5.5, 141)

    7 p.m. ET

Seton Hall has taken some money here to drive this line up to 5.5, as UNLV is in a rather weird travel spot. After heading all the way to New Jersey to take on Princeton, they flew home to host Boston College before earning another trip back to the Garden State to take on Seton Hall. I also think there are some negative regression indicators for the Rebels, who only committed one turnover in the win over Boston College.

I also think there are some positive regression indicators for the UNLV defense, as Princeton was 12-of-37 from 3 and BC was 11-of-29. Prior to those two games, UNLV had only allowed double-digit 3-point makes once since Jan. 23. Seton Hall is not a team that shoots a lot of 3s, as they have just a 31.1% 3P Rate and are shooting just 33% on those. UNLV ranks 62nd in 3P% defense this season.

This should be a slower-paced game, as Seton Hall ranks in the 260s per Bart Torvik in adjusted tempo and UNLV ranks in the 300s. Seton Hall does own a 47% shot share on Close Twos, but UNLV has a decent interior defense. The Pirates are also holding opponents to just 53.8% on 2-point shots this season, so their defense should fare pretty well in this matchup.

The lone concern I have is that Seton Hall has a huge edge on the offensive glass and that could lead to some second-chance points, but we’re into the quarterfinals now and I think we get better defensive efforts from both teams with the game’s increased importance.

    Pick: Under 141
