Campbell vs. Virginia

7 PM ET

The Cavaliers dealt with some late offseason body blows with coach Tony Bennett stepping down as coach less than three weeks ago and Florida State transfer Jalen Warley subsequently also leaving the program. Interim coach Ron Sanchez was last a head coach at Charlotte during the 2022-23 season, with his team ranking 361st among 363 teams in total possessions per game, which is not conducive to covering a big spread.

Campbell +17.5 (Greg’s handicap Campbell +14)

Lehigh vs. Georgetown

7 PM ET

Georgetown is a combined 22-73 the past three seasons and, though Lehigh was blown out 90-46 by Northwestern on Monday, the return of two of last season’s top three scorers in Tyler Whitney-Sidney and Keith Higgins should lead to success against a Georgetown team that was 360th in opponent 2-point field goal shooting percentage last season.

Lehigh +15 (Greg’s Handicap Lehigh +10)

Vermont vs. Auburn

8 PM ET

Vermont has one of the traditionally slow styles of basketball in the country, ranking 278th or lower in possessions per game each of the past eight seasons and are coming off of a 67-62 win against a rather up-tempo UAB team. Auburn is one of just two teams that had two qualifying players rank in the top 75 in the country in blocks per game and were 10th in points allowed on a per-possession basis last season.

Vermont vs. Auburn Under 144 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 138.5)

Alcorn State vs. Utah State

9 PM ET

While Alcorn State’s 100-59 opening night loss to the Utah Utes was a rough start, they get to now face a team with a lot of moving parts with former Youngstown State coach Jerrod Calhoun taking over the program in the offseason and had to replace much of last season’s low post big men, which should help an Alcorn State offensive system that avoids taking a lot of 3-point shots, ranking eighth in the percentage of their field goal attempts that were 2-point shots last season at 73.4%

Alcorn State +24.5 (Greg’s Handicap Alcorn State +17.5)

Oakland vs. Boise State

9 PM ET

Oakland had the highest uptick in defensive efficiency away from home versus at home of any Division I team last season, allowing nine points fewer per 100 possessions in a road or neutral court environment than at home. Boise State lost five of the seven players that averaged more than 11 minutes per game last season and may struggle breaking in a new backcourt.

Oakland +18 (Greg’s handicap Oakland +10.5)
