OAKLAWN PARK: Fifth Race – Post Time – 2:21 CT
5-Bicameral (2-1)
California invader returns to the maiden ranks after finishing a distant third in the Del Mar Debutante in early September, so we’ll consider her morning line of 2-1 to be something of an overlay in this six runner event for juvenile fillies. Armed with the classic two-sprints-and-a-stretch out angle, the daughter of Constitution adds blinkers, shows two solid works over the track, and picks up aggressive rider R. Santana, Jr. to ensure that she’ll be allowed show her natural early speed. She’s projected to be on the lead or in an ideal pace-stalking position outside and then have every chance from there.
OAKLAWN PARK: Sixth race – Post Time – 2:51 CT
4-In Dreams (7/2)
Frosted colt is improving with each outing and appears set for another significant forward move in this allowance optional claiming sprint for 2-year-olds. Toyed with an expensive maiden claiming field at Churchill Downs last time out while earning a stakes-quality speed figure and was more impressive in victory than the six and one-half furlong margin appears on paper. The Brad Cox-trained colt adds Lasix, retains “win rider” Florent Geroux, and looks very much like the controlling speed right back. He’ll have to deal with the recent maiden winner Chasing Time, but we’ll gamble that he’ll be up to the task.
