Compared to another very busy sports betting weekend, Monday was a relatively light betting day, highlighted by a 10-game MLB card with the majority of teams getting a travel day during the dog days of summer

And speaking of dogs, they dominated for the most part on Monday. So, let’s get to our nightly betting recaps that we post on Twitter @ViewFromVegas, and then update the season-long betting stats for favorites/underdogs, home/road teams and Over/Unders.

MLB: Underdogs went 7-3 on Monday with the biggest upsets by the Angels (+180 in 4-1 win at Braves), Nationals (+180 in 5-3 win vs. Brewers), Rockies (+177 in 4-3, 10-inning win vs. Padres late night) and Orioles (+128 in 4-2 win at Blue Jays). The other winning dogs were the Reds, (+113 in 6-5 win at Cubs), Diamondbacks (+110 in 4-3, 11-inning win at Giants) and Phillies (+100 in 4-2 win at Marlins). The winning faves were all in the American League with the Astros (-170 in 7-3 win vs. Guardians), Rays (-155 in 5-1 win at Yankees) and Mariners (-122 in 6-2 win vs. Red Sox. Road teams went 6-4. Unders led 7-3.

More MLB: Faves still lead 897-660 on the season with 26 games closing pick-’em. Home teams still lead 827-752 overall with 4 neutral-site games, though road teams have been cutting into the lead the past few weeks. Unders continue to improve slim lead at 774-747-62 with 1 no-action.
