Friday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Payton Tolle Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-110) vs. Athletics
Athletics at Red Sox – 7:10 pm ET
Tolle has had at least seven strikeouts in four consecutive starts. The lefty is also averaging 7.0 strikeouts per game when pitching at Fenway Park. He has been tremendous for this Red Sox team this season, and I like him to go out and turn in a strong start against the Athletics tonight. I also like him to hit the seven-K mark again. The Athletics have a strikeout rate of 24.5% and whiff percentage of 27.2% against lefties this season, and this has been a team I have been successfully targeting all year. I’m going back to it this evening.
Ben Rice Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105) vs. Braves
Braves at Yankees – 7:05 pm ET
Rice comes into this game in a bit of a slump, but he’s still averaging 2.4 HRR per game against righties this season. That said, he should bust out of this in the near future, and I like his chances of doing so tonight. Righty Tyler Mahle will be on the mound for the Braves in this game, and he comes into this start with an ERA of 5.13 on the season. That said, Rice should be able to take advantage of this matchup.
Parker Messick Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-129 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 7+ (+160 – 0.5 units) vs. White Sox
Guardians at White Sox – 7:40 pm ET
Like the Athletics, I have also been going after the White Sox with opposing pitcher strikeout props. Well, I’m grabbing Messick to have at least six strikeouts tonight, plus I’m also playing an alternate for him to finish with seven. Messick has had at least six strikeouts in three straight starts, and he has also had that in 12 of his last 19 outings. Also, Messick had a 10-K performance against this Chicago team on June 23. That was a start at Rate Field, where he’ll be pitching tonight.
