Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for September 15. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Tuesday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Tuesday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+104) vs. Reds

Dodgers at Reds – 6:40 pm ET

Playing inside Great American Ball Park definitely doesn’t do pitchers any justice. However, playing against the Reds does. Cincinnati has the worst strikeout rate (25.7%) in baseball against righties, and the team also has a high whiff percentage of 27.6%. That said, Yamamoto should still be excited about getting to face this Reds lineup, and he just struck out 10 against them on September 9. In many ways, the righty is built to destroy Cincinnati. While the Reds have the league’s highest strikeout rate (26.5%) against fastballs, Yamamoto has one of the best whiff percentages (33.6%) in the league with that pitch, which he throws a bunch.

Sean Manaea Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+128) vs. Orioles

Orioles at Mets – 7:10 pm ET

Last night, we got our Over with Jonah Tong working against the Orioles. Well, let’s see if we can get another Over with Manaea facing Baltimore. This season has been quite rough on Manaea, but lefties have been tricky for Baltimore this year. The Orioles have the highest strikeout rate (26.4%) against southpaws this season, and their whiff percentage (27.7%) is also wildly high. Baltimore has also proven to be awful against cutters (28.1% strikeout rate) this season, and that has been Manaea’s best swing-and-miss pitch in 2026.

Manny Machado Over 1.5 Total Bases (-125) vs. Rockies

Padres at Rockies – 8:40 pm ET

Machado continues to get worse and worse as a contact hitter, as his .221 batting average this season is the lowest he has posted since entering the league. However, this is still a hitter that can be dangerous, and I’m willing to back him against a lefty at Coors Field. This is the most hitter-friendly park in baseball, and the total in this one is up at 11.0 runs. This year, Machado is averaging 2.0 total bases per game in games with totals of 9.0 or higher. That goes up to 2.4 in games in which the opponent has a lefty on the mound. That’s a good thing with Kyle Freeland toeing the rubber for the Rockies.
