Thursday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Thursday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Corbin Carroll Over 1.5 Total Bases (-112) vs. Rockies
Diamondbacks at Rockies – 3:10 pm ET
Carroll gets to play at Coors Field for this one, and he’s also up against a righty. This season, when facing righty starters in hitter-friendly parks, Carroll is averaging 1.8 total bases per game. Against Tanner Gordon, I see him having either multiple hits or an extra-base hit.
Tyler Mahle Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-121) vs. Reds
Reds at Braves – 7:15 pm ET
Mahle is averaging 7.0 strikeouts per game when facing bottom-five teams in strikeout rate, and this Reds team has the highest strikeout rate in the league against righties this year. Mahle actually had six strikeouts against Cincinnati back on April 15, and I think he’ll cruise through this start in Truist Park.
Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Total Bases (-124) vs. Athletics
Astros at Athletics – 9:40 pm ET
Alvarez is one of the best hitters in baseball, and he’s averaging 2.2 total bases per game against righties this year. Tonight, he’ll look to really inflict damage against Mason Burnett and an A’s team which has the highest bullpen ERA in MLB. He’ll also be doing so in hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park. This should be a game he puts up big numbers in.
