Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Thursday, August 24th:

Washington Nationals at New York Yankees (-205, 8.5)

The Yankees have been a miserable team over the last couple of weeks, but they are coming off a 9-1 win over this Nationals team. Now, New York gets a crack at Patrick Corbin. I’m not the type of person that likes to just fade Corbin whenever he’s on the mound. In fact, I have backed the lefty on numerous occasions this season. But New York is tied for third in the league in wRC+ against lefties since the start of July. And the team is sixth in the league in that metric over the course of the entire season. So, the Yankees should be able to take advantage of this matchup, especially with this being a home game. I’m not quite sure they’ll score four runs on him, which is why I didn’t play the Over on his earned run total. But I think six hits is well within reason.

Bet: Corbin Over 5.5 Hits Allowed (-140)

Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles (-110, 9)

Kyle Gibson has given up at least nine hits in four of his last 10 starts, and he has also done it in back-to-back outings. This is not a guy that is making life very difficult on opponents right now, so I find it hard to believe that the Blue Jays will struggle to hit him tonight. Toronto has one of the most dangerous lineups in the league, so I wanted to take somebody on this team to go Over their total bases prop. That said, I’m looking at Vladimir Guerrero Jr. here. Guerrero is 4 for 11 with a double in his brief head-to-head history against Gibson. He’s also 4 for 9 in this series thus far, so he’s seeing the ball well right now. With that in mind, I like him to come through at the plate here. And while multiple hits is possible, I think Guerrero will come through with an extra base hit or a homer in this one.

Bet: Guerrero Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)

Texas Rangers at Minnesota Twins (-125, 8.5)

Andrew Heaney has failed to reach the six-strikeout mark in each of his last three starts, but he had 11 strikeouts in the start before this stretch. Heaney has also had seven starts this season in which he has had at least six strikeouts, and I don’t see much preventing him from doing it here. This Twins team has the highest strikeout rate in baseball this season, so this is a matchup that is great for pitchers with Heaney’s stuff. This Twins team has been one that I’ve been fading with strikeout props all season long, and I’d be very surprised if this lineup doesn’t have some trouble making contact against Heaney in this spot.

Bet: Heaney Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+120)
