MLB value plays for Monday, June 26

Greg Peterson posts his daily handicapped MLB lines for every game every day. Based on his lines vs. the actual lines, here is where Peterson sees value on today’s menu. Peterson also does a daily podcast, The Baseball Betting Show, on which he breaks down every game every day.

Tigers vs. Rangers Total 9. Greg’s Total 9.6.

Tigers starter Matthew Boyd will try to shut down the league’s top-scoring offense. He posts a 5.35 ERA this season, allowing at least four runs in three of his last five starts. Rangers starter Andrew Heaney has a 5.35 home ERA with 1.7 home runs per nine innings allowed while being backed up by a bullpen that is 23rd in ERA. The Rangers lead the league in runs and home runs per game at home and are second among MLB teams in batting average at home.

Nationals vs. Mariners Total 8. Greg’s Total 7.3.

While the Nationals are sixth in the league, they are last in home runs and 23rd in runs per game. They face Mariners starter Luis Castillo, whose ERA is 2.03 at home compared to 4.24 on the road. The Mariners back up Castillo with a bullpen that is fourth in the league in ERA, but a lineup with just a .227 home batting average, the 27th among the 30 MLB teams.
