System Match (FADE): MILWAUKEE (-120 vs TB)
WORLD SERIES system #3:
Strangely, the most profitable home teams in the World Series recently have been those in the -110 to -125 range, or the very short favorites, as those teams are on a 19-12 run since 2000 (+4.79 Units, 15.5% ROI)
System Match (PLAY): MILWAUKEE (-120 vs TB)

WORLD SERIES system #8:
Incredibly, since the start of the 2014 World Series, teams that scored two or fewer runs in the prior game are on an incredible 25-13 surge (+12.63 Units, 33.2% ROI).

MLB Bullpen Systems
The following systems and qualifying plays are from the weekly update series on handicapping MLB teams using Steve Makinen’s bullpen strength ratings.
Better bullpen small favorite teams in -111 to -126 range are thriving in ‘26
In the 2026 regular season, small favorite teams in the -111 to -126 line range with a SM Bullpen Rating edge fared quite well. Last season this was about a -6% ROI angle. However, there is some foundation to the system in that with teams this closely matched together by the oddsmakers, it can often be good bullpen performance that separates the teams. For 2026, these teams finished 266-187 for +45.33 units, an ROI of +10% (3-0, +3.00 units in the playoffs).
System Match (PLAY): MILWAUKEE (-120 vs TB)
MLB Team Strength Systems
The following handicapping information details betting systems for teams based upon some various team strength indicator or line scenarios.
MLB Team Strength Betting System #5:
In MLB games occurring in August or later between two teams who have >= 0.580 win pct, smaller favorites in the -111 to -175 line range have gone 59-29 SU for +18.97 units (ROI: 21.6%) in the last five seasons.
System Match (PLAY): MILWAUKEE (-120 vs TB)
MLB Streak Systems
The following systems and qualifying plays detail different systems for betting teams on winning or losing streaks.
Winning Streak Betting System #10:
Oddly, teams that score the most runs per game are the best to fade to see their four-game winning streak reach five. Teams scoring 5.0 or more runs per game and riding a four-game winning streak are just 174-177 (-76.98 units, ROI: -21.9%) in the next contest since the start of the 2021 season.
