NBA Best Bets Today – March 27
Golden State Warriors at Orlando Magic – 7:00 pm ET
Orlando is getting Golden State after the team earned a win over the Miami Heat last night. But the Heat were without Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson, in addition to Tyler Herro. So, that was a game the Warriors were expected to win. But Golden State could have some trouble with Orlando. The Warriors just aren’t as good as they should be offensively, and the Magic are third in the league in adjusted defensive rating. And Jalen Suggs is a good option for Orlando to stick on Steph Curry. With that in mind, I’m expecting Golden State to struggle a bit offensively here. And the Magic should be able to do just enough on offense to win a somewhat straightforward game.
This is also a game in which the Warriors are playing the second night of a back-to-back, but the Magic have had three full days of rest. So, that’s a significant edge in rest for Orlando. And the Magic are also 23-6 against the spread when playing as favorites this year. They have won those games by an average of 10.8 points per game.
Bet: Magic -3.5 (-110 – 2 units)
Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies – 8:00 pm ET
The Lakers were able to pick up a massive win over the Milwaukee Bucks last night, and they did it without LeBron James. Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves all came up huge in the victory for Los Angeles. And it isn’t out of the question that the Lakers will get LeBron back tonight. But I have a hard time believing Los Angeles won’t be feeling the aftermath of last night physically. That was a hard-earned win in which the Lakers clawed their way back into the game, and they then needed to play overtime. So, they should be a little tired when they get to Memphis. And this is also an emotional letdown spot.
The Grizzlies are also a little healthier at the moment. They’re going to have Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane out there tonight, and it seems like they could get Brandon Clarke back. That said, Memphis should have enough out there to give Los Angeles some trouble. The Grizzlies are also coming off a day of rest, and they’re returning home after a four-game road trip. They should have a lot more energy than the Lakers.
Los Angeles is also just 15-20 straight-up and 16-19 ATS on the road this year. So, I’m taking a shot on the Grizzlies to cover and win outright.
Bet: Grizzlies +4.5 (-112 – 2 units) & Grizzlies ML (+148)
NBA Player Props Today – March 27
Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets – 10:00 pm ET
Jusuf Nurkic is questionable to play tonight, as he suffered a bad ankle sprain against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. However, the big man’s NBA player props are still posted, and his assist total looks way too low. This season, Nurkic is averaging 3.8 assists per game for Phoenix. He is one of the team’s best playmakers and the Suns put the ball in his hands regularly. Nurkic also happened to have six assists against this same Nuggets team on March 5th. So, he’s going to be plenty comfortable attempting to find the open man against this defense. That said, I’m firing Nurkic up to have at least three dimes tonight. I’m also sprinkling Nurkic to have at least four. If he doesn’t play, the bet will be voided.
Bet: Nurkic Over 2.5 Assists (-142 – 1.5 units) & Nurkic Alt Assists 4+ (+180 – 0.5 units)
Added Plays
Chicago Bulls ML (+133 – 2 units) vs. Indiana Pacers
Phoenix Suns +6 (-110 – 2 units) vs. Denver Nuggets
Phoenix Suns ML (+190 – 0.5 units) vs. Denver Nuggets
