Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Tuesday, April 4:
Minnesota Timberwolves (-2, 224) at Brooklyn Nets
You’ll have to pay up a bit in order to back the over on Mikal Bridges’ assist total, but we feel it’s worth it tonight. Over the last 10 games, Bridges is averaging 5.1 potential assists for the Nets, and that’s double the total of his actual assists in tonight’s game. With that said, he’s setting his teammates up for shots. And considering he’s 12th in the league in usage rate in that span, it isn’t all that surprising.
Considering how often the Nets put the ball in Bridges’ hands, it’s almost hard for Bridges not to have at least three assists. But that’s especially true in this matchup with the Timberwolves, who are likely going to throw Jaden McDaniels on Bridges in this one. McDaniels is one of the game’s best wing defenders, so more of Bridges’ drives could end up with the ball in the hands of a teammate.
Bridges has also had at least three assists in three of the last four games he’s played against the Timberwolves.
Bet: Bridges Over 2.5 Assists (-150)
Atlanta Hawks at Chicago Bulls (-5, 230)
The Bulls have had some trouble keeping Clint Capela off the glass this season, as he’s averaging 13.0 rebounds per game in two meetings with Chicago this year. Capela also had at least 12 rebounds in both of those games, so it’s a little surprising to see his total down at 9.5 for this one.
Capela has been on a tear on the glass in recent weeks, too. The big man has had at least 10 rebounds in 13 of his last 18 games, and he’s also coming off a month in which he averaged 10.7 rebounds per game in 26.1 minutes per game. So, the playing time is there and so are the recent results.
Considering how big of a menace Capela has been on the boards, it’s hard to see him not having a big game in that regard against Nikola Vucevic of all people. Vucevic knows how to use his positioning to secure boards, but he doesn’t have quick enough feet to block out Capela all evening.
Bet: Capela Over 9.5 Rebounds (-135)
Oklahoma City Thunder at Golden State Warriors (-8, 242.5)
We’re laying more juice than we normally would on Isaiah Joe to hit at least two triples against the Warriors tonight. The 23-year-old has been in a bit of a slump lately, as he is 1 for 18 from deep over the last three games. However, Joe is still coming off a month in which he hit at least two 3s in 10 of the 17 games he played. Now, Joe gets a very good matchup against the Warriors.
On March 7th, Joe hit three triples in a 137-128 win over Golden State, and he has now hit at least two 3s in all three of the games he has played against the Warriors this year. And considering Golden State is allowing more 3s per game than all but three teams this season, you’d have to think the sniper will get some good looks here.
The only thing to be concerned about in this one is Joe’s playing time. But he has played at least 25 minutes in four of his last five games.
Bet: Joe Over 1.5 Threes (-180)
