NHL Predictions – Expert Picks on Monday, February 24:
Here are tonight’s NHL predictions:
San Jose Sharks at Winnipeg Jets (-500, 6)
7:30 p.m. ET
You are what your record says you are, and the San Jose Sharks are 32nd and last overall in the NHL standings. Conversely, the Winnipeg Jets have the league’s second-best record. This line is ridiculous, and I will have a “pizza money” bet on the Sharks tonight. I am also on the Sharks to score a goal in the first period. There have been 17 games this season with a favorite of (-400+), and the underdog has scored a first-period goal 13 times. Since I don’t envision the Sharks keeping the Jets off the scoresheet in the first period, I will also play both teams to score (1st period) and the first period Over 1.5 goals. From my good buddy Kevin Rogers (@RogersPicks), the first period Over 1.5 goals is 5-0 in Vitek Vanecek road starts. In 12 of the 17 games with a favorite (-400 or more), we had a goal scored in the first 10 minutes.
A couple of player props that I am on for this game: Macklin Celebrini scored a goal in both games this season against the Jets and Winnipeg’s Cole Perfetti has three goals in two games versus Sharks starting goalie Vitek Vanecek.
NHL Predictions: San Jose Sharks 1st Period Over ½ goal (+120) – 1 unit
Goal 1st 10 minutes/Yes (-155) – 1 unit
1st Period BTTS (+210) – 1 unit
1st Period Over 1.5 goals (-135) – 1unit
San Jose Sharks ML (+380) – ¼ unit
Cole Perfetti anytime goal (+300) – ¼ unit
Macklin Celebrini anytime goal (+260) – ¼ unit
