French Open best bets for Thursday, June 6th

We’re nearing the end of the second major of this exciting 2024 tennis season, as the top ATP and WTA players in the world are in Paris for the 2024 French Open. The action at Roland Garros should be stellar over the next couples of days, so now isn’t the time to stop watching. Both the men and the women are up to the semifinals, which means we only have six total singles matches left in Paris. So, keep reading for some of my favorite plays for Day 12 of the French Open, which will be played on Thursday, June 6th and features the two women’s semifinals.

I’d also strongly suggest coming back to this story throughout the day. I try to write up as many matches as I can in advance, but it’s hard to do that in an international sport. I also like to throw in some Challenger-level bets. That said, I’ll probably be adding picks to the bottom of the story. I’ll also throw them on the Pro Picks page.

Coco Gauff vs. Iga Swiatek

I already have a sizable play on Swiatek to win the French Open, so I won’t be doing anything with this match. However, I do think that there’s a good chance that Swiatek wins this in impressive fashion. I got more into that in my Gauff vs. Swiatek prediction story, but the Pole is 10-1 in this head-to-head matchup and beat up on the American at Roland Garros in both 2022 and 2023. Gauff has a serious mental hurdle to get over in order to compete with Swaitek on the red clay — she has never won a set against her on the dirt — and the slower conditions in Paris make it a tougher on-court matchup for her.

Lean: Swiatek -5.5 Games (-125)

Mirra Andreeva vs. Jasmine Paolini

Click here for an in-depth preview of this match!

Andreeva is already the story of the tournament, as the 17-year-old is into her first Grand Slam semi-final and scored a win over Aryna Sabalenka. That victory completely overshadowed Paolini pulling off an upset over Elena Rybakina and joining the WTA’s Top 10. However, Andreeva is going to have her work cut out for her in order to beat Paolini, who is capable of grinding along the baseline but also punishing her forehand for winners. The Italian’s ability to go big from that side of the court could ultimately be the difference here, and I went into it in my Andreeva vs. Paolini prediction story.

Bet: Paolini ML (+115)
