The 2026 tennis season is into its final stretch, and this week brings a pair of ATP 500 events in Vienna and Basel. With the Paris Masters next on the calendar and the ATP Finals approaching, there’s still plenty to play for as players look to finish strong on the indoor hard courts.

Both tournaments should give us plenty to work with from a betting perspective, and I’ll be posting my tennis best bets daily throughout the week. My write-ups will focus exclusively on ATP matches, but I’ll also have women’s picks available on the picks page.

With that in mind, keep reading for my tennis best bets for Thursday, October 29, at the Erste Bank Open and Swiss Indoors Basel.

Valentin Vacherot vs. Rafael Jodar

This play doesn’t feel that different from the one I had on Tallon Griekspoor on Wednesday. Is Jodar a better player than Vacherot? Sure. Does that mean he’s going to wipe the floor with him? Absolutely not.

Over the last 52 weeks, Vacherot is No. 6 on the ATP Tour in TennisViz’s Serve Quality (8.79) on hard courts. He’s excellent at hitting his spots and running through his service games. That’s massive when looking at this specific match, as it’s even easier to pick up quick holds indoors.

Jodar also happens to have a bit of a shaky serve. I know he has an all-world skill set, but the consistency hasn’t been there with the ball on his racquet. With that in mind, I wouldn’t be stunned if Vacherot sees a good amount of opportunities to break.

Vacherot is also incredibly underrated as a baseliner. He has a fantastic backhand, and he competes his butt off. So, he really should be able to make Jodar work for this one.

Bet: Vacherot +1.5 Sets (-120 – 1.5 units) & Vacherot ML (+260 – 0.5 units)

Matteo Berrettini vs. Flavio Cobolli

There’s a lot that Cobolli does at a higher level than Berrettini, but playing indoors levels the playing field a bit. Cobolli’s inconsistency as a server could really make him pay in these conditions, as Berrettini likely won’t run into many problems when the ball is on his racquet. Berrettini has the ability to serve up a ton of aces, and we should also see him put plenty of points away with his plus-one forehand. And speaking of that forehand, that’ll be the biggest weapon on the court in this match.

Berrettini hasn’t posted great results recently, but he also hasn’t been broken much either. So, he’s in a decent position to keep himself around in this match, waiting out a lazy service game from Cobolli to strike.

Berrettini has also enjoyed playing in Vienna in the past, posting some decent results here. He should head to the court with confidence that he can beat his fellow countryman.

Bet: Berrettini ML (-110)

Added Plays

I usually have A LOT MORE on the Pro Picks page. Those plays count towards my record and have been a big part of my success this season. Make sure you check them out. I’ll probably add a few more over there, so refresh that page throughout the day if you’re looking for action.
