🏀 Comeback Of All Comebacks
I guess it was too much to ask that the Knicks cover.
They did, however, stage the greatest comeback in NBA playoff history to take a 3-1 lead over the Spurs in the NBA Finals.
Down by as many as 29 points in the first half, New York rallied to win 107-106. The Knicks failed to cover the closing -2 at Circa (-2.5 at DraftKings), but bettors holding New York futures tickets probably aren’t complaining.
Game 5 is Saturday in San Antonio, with the Spurs opening as 5- to 5.5-point favorites.
Zach Cohen’s NBA Report
With 9:27 left in the third quarter, San Antonio led 81-52 and appeared headed toward a series-tying victory.
However, this Knicks team doesn’t know the meaning of the word quit.
As New York chipped away at the lead, it felt increasingly inevitable. The comeback was completed when OG Anunoby tipped in the go-ahead basket with 1.2 seconds remaining — the first lead change of the entire game.
The Knicks are now -500 favorites to win the NBA Finals. Anunoby has climbed to +275 to win Finals MVP, behind only Jalen Brunson (-140). Victor Wembanyama sits third at +400.
