As a kid, I spent Thanksgivings watching Bears-Lions games on my grandparents’ couch in DeKalb, Ill. (Shoutout to Dave Williams and his OT kickoff return in 1980. I was getting hungry.)
As a grown-up, I spent most Thanksgivings at my newspaper job because the Bears were playing the Lions. Nothing like eating newsroom turkey and stuffing at your desk to make you reevaluate your life decisions.
Of course, those decisions led me to VSiN and Las Vegas, for which I am truly thankful.
Given that, I want to thank everyone here at VSiN for working today to provide you with a full day of programming and content on VSiN.com:
>The Morning Line (7-8 a.m. ET) with Grace Remington and Harrison Sanford.
>The Lombardi Line (8-10 a.m. ET) with Michael Lombardi and Will Hill.
>A Numbers Game (10-noon ET) with Gill Alexander and Kelley Bydlon.
>Live Bet Thanksgiving (Noon-7 p.m. ET) with Tim Murray and Dustin Swedelson (4 hours) and Scott Seidenberg (3 hours).
>VSiN PrimeTime (7-10 p.m. ET) with Greg Peterson.
>Cashing out (10 p.m.-1 a.m.) with Joe Ceraulo.
Most of all, I want to give thanks for your support of VSiN. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving appetizers
Here are some fun facts to share with your fellow turkey eaters today:
>The Lions have a 37-45-2 record on Thanksgiving; the Bears are 20-15-2.
>Detroit has lost its last seven Thanksgiving games outright, going 3-4 ATS.
>Prior to last year’s 29-22 loss to Green Bay, the Lions were on an 8-0 SU & 7-1 ATS run when favored on Turkey Day.
>Chicago is 4-3 SU & 5-2 ATS on Thanksgiving since ’97.
>Dallas has also struggled on Turkey Day, going 6-8 SU & 3-11 ATS in their last 14. Nine of the last 12 have gone OVER the total.
>As favorites of -10 or fewer, the Cowboys are on a 5-5 SU & 1-9 ATS skid on Thanksgiving.
ICYMI yesterday, here are Zach Cohen‘s previews:
>Bears at Lions, 12:30 p.m. ET (CBS)
The money started coming in on the Bears on Wednesday after the Lions announced that starting LT Taylor Decker (knee) and CB Carlton Davis (thumb, knee) are out and RB David Montgomery (shoulder) and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (knee) are questionable.
>Giants at Cowboys, 4:30 p.m. ET (Fox)
Giants QB Tommy DeVito (right forearm) is listed as questionable, so we are likely to see Drew Lock today.
>Dolphins at Packers, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC)

More Thanksgiving football
Adam Burke sets up tonight’s Memphis-Tulane game (7:30 ET, ESPN):
Thanksgiving is traditionally reserved for the NFL, but we’ve got a very interesting college football game on Thursday night that could have some College Football Playoff impact. Memphis and Tulane square off in the only game of the night, as Tulane would be next in line as the highest-ranked Group of Five champion by running the table.
The Green Wave need help from either Oregon State this week or probably UNLV in the Mountain West Championship Game, but the possibility is there and that makes this a big game.
