NFL Week 1 is, well, opening week.
Week 2 is overreaction week.
Week 3?
It’s trap week, according to Steve Makinen.
“Typically, after two weeks of games, bettors are already forming distinctive opinions, and in turn, those setting the odds try to take advantage of this. I’m going to try to help you avoid some of those traps this week.”
Steve has 10 betting systems for Week 3, including this one:
NFL teams that start 0-2 SU are 33-29 SU and 42-19-1 ATS (68.9%) against 1-1 teams in Week 3 since 2010.
The rationale behind the numbers: Trust that the desperate 0-2 teams will bring their best effort into this week’s game, motivated by the fear of going 0-3 and what that has historically meant to teams’ playoff chances.
Two Week 3 games qualify for that system.
And Steve’s systems have started the season 22-9-1 ATS in Week 1 and 37-27 ATS in Week 2.

🎰 QB Roulette Is Moving the Lines
Two of the games involved in Steve’s Week 3 system have quarterback angles: Michael Penix Jr. is ready for his season debut for Atlanta, while the Giants will be without Jaxson Dart.
The news on Dart got decidedly worse Tuesday, when the Giants announced he could miss the season with the knee injury he suffered on the opening drive Monday night.
Meanwhile, Bears backup Tyson Bagent suffered a concussion after replacing the injured Caleb Williams. If neither can play Monday night against Philadelphia, say hello to Case Keenum.
Chicago was -1.5 on the lookahead line against the Eagles, moved to +3.5 after the Williams news and then +4.5 after the Bagent news.
