VSiN’s Hottest Handicapper Isn’t Human

Normally I’d lead with the British Open or the World Cup.

We’ll get to both.

But first, I’d like to introduce you to one of VSiN’s hottest handicappers.

The catch?

It isn’t a person.

If you’ve looked at the VSiN Pro picks leaderboard recently, you’ve probably noticed VSiN JOLT quietly climbing the rankings.

JOLT is the MLB player prop projection model built by VSiN’s Jason Latus, the man behind our contest platform and much of the data you see every day on VSiN.com.

JOLT stands for Just Over/Under Likelihood Technology.

Naturally, I wanted to know the secret sauce.

Jason told me the model combines years of historical matchup data with recent performance trends, then compares those projections against DraftKings player prop lines using advanced probability modeling to identify betting value.

A few more details:

• Five picks are generated each day.
• Batters need at least 50 career plate appearances to qualify.
• Pitchers need at least three career starts.
• Every play must show at least a 5% edge before it’s posted.

I asked Jason whether he expected JOLT to climb the leaderboard this quickly.

“I’m a little surprised it’s doing so well since it started off kind of slow. I’ve tweaked the algorithm a little. I think the best part is just five picks per day.”
