WNBA Picks
Another day, another slate of WNBA games to handicap. Tonight, we just have two games in the W after a four-game slate last night and another four-gamer tomorrow night. We’ve the Lynx visiting Paige Bueckers and Dallas, while New York looks to exact revenge against the Fire after the buzzer-beating shot by Portland beat the Liberty just a couple days ago. As always, I’ve got you covered with projections on every spread and total, so let’s see where we can find some value today.
Dallas Wings (-3.5) vs Minnesota Lynx, O/U 177.5
Dallas quickly garnered quite a bit of attention after taking down the Fever last week in their opener, which was viewed by over two million people; however, they came back down to Earth after losing to Angel Reese and the Dream. Now, they’ll take on this Lynx team that’s been extremely feisty even without DPOY and MVP candidate Napheesa Collier. TSI projects Dallas -1 with a total of 174. The Lynx won outright as ‘dogs in their last game, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them do it again here, but either way, this is too many points to lay for Dallas, and this total is a bit too high.
Bet: Lynx +3.5 or better, Under 177.5 (Play to 176)
Portland Fire (+11.5) vs New York Liberty, O/U 176.5
As I mentioned, Portland shocked the WNBA world by beating New York at the buzzer earlier this week, and I’m sure the Liberty would love to get the bad taste out of their mouths. Despite the win, Portland’s win total still just sits at 9.5 for the season, so the market doesn’t think too much of them still. Getting a combined 47 points from Bridget Carlton and Carla Leite seems unlikely two times in a row against this Liberty team. TSI agrees, projecting New York -14.5 with a total of 171. I’d love to bet the revenge spot here, but I’m going to pass and play the total instead.
Bet: Under 176.6 (Play to 175)
