Anduril 250

This week’s NASCAR Cup Series race is going to be very different, as we have the first Coronado Street Course race, the Anduril 250. This will be a 3.4-mile track around the Naval Base with 16 total turns, so it’s going to be something very unique for the drivers. There are a handful of modest straightaways to pick up some speed, but this is going to be all about handling the car.

This is the 17th race of 36 for the Cup Series season, with the In-Season Challenge coming up after the Coronado race this week.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series Winners and Standings

Three wins in a row for Denny Hamlin, as the distribution of wins continues to be pretty small. There are only eight total race winners and Hamlin is up to four now. He’s still trailing Tyler Reddick in both wins and points, but the lead is down to just 19 points. It was over 100 before this run for Hamlin got underway. Reddick was second last week and still lost some ground.

Chase Elliott is the other multiple winner, while Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs, Carson Hocevar, Shane van Gisbergen, and Daniel Suarez are the drivers with one win. Reddick has actually finished in the top five in four of his last six races, but the new scoring system for NASCAR has given more value to winning races.

Reddick has 704 points and Hamlin has 685 points. Then there’s a huge gap down to Blaney in third place with 539 points. Elliott is 30 points behind that and Gibbs is just three points in back of Elliott. The rest of the top 10 is the winless Kyle Larson and Chris Buescher, Suarez, Hocevar, and Christopher Bell.

Wins no longer guarantee entry into the playoffs, so the top 16 in points will make up who is in contention for the Cup Series Chase, which begins on September 6.

Anduril 250 Winners

We have no data points for this race because this is the first running of it around the Coronado Street Course. van Gisbergen was a two-time winner of the street course in Chicago, so that’s probably the best frame of reference we have. Alex Bowman had the other win.

In terms of top-five finishes, Reddick and Gibbs have a couple of them, joining SVG in that department.
