Enjoy Illinois 300
The Cup Series Chase continues this week with the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. It is the second race of 10 in the Cup Series Chase, which has a new all-inclusive format where all 16 drivers are alive for the title for the duration.
This is the one and only race at this track and just got on the schedule in 2022, so we only have four data points to go off of, but that should be enough to have a good idea of which bets have some value.

All 16 drivers who qualified for the Cup Series Chase will be in the running to win the championship for the duration of the season. The point totals were reset based on a new format, ranging from 2,100 to 2,000 to start the Chase.

The race winners from the regular season were Tyler Reddick (5), Denny Hamlin (4), Blaney (3), Chase Elliott (2), Shane van Gisbergen (2), Corey Heim (2), Gibbs (2), Logano (2), Daniel Suarez, Carson Hocevar, Chase Briscoe, and Ryan Preece. Preece’s win stole van Gisbergen’s playoff spot from him, as it came at just the right time.
Christopher Bell won his first race of the season at just the right time, getting off to a good start in the Cup Series Chase. Bell went from sixth to second with the win and he also won Stage 2. Hamlin only finished 18th and kept the lead, but only picked up 35 points.

Enjoy Illinois 300 Winners
The four race winners here are Hamlin, Logano, Cindric, and Kyle Busch. Logano has actually finished in the top five in every one of the races here, so he’s definitely a guy to look at. Hamlin has three top-five finishes here on the 1.25-mile track, but his average finish of 9.8 actually sits seventh among drivers with all four starts.
Logano’s average finish is 3.5 over the four starts. Bell is next at 8.5, followed by Larson and Blaney at 9.5. As mentioned, data points are limited, but drivers with success on intermediate tracks and ovals are worthy of a look.
