Hollywood Casino 400
The Cup Series Chase rolls on with the fourth race of 10 to decide this year’s NASCAR champion. The Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway brings us back to Sunday racing after last Saturday’s night race at Bristol.
It also takes us back to the scene of the AdventHealth 400 back on April 19, a race won by Tyler Reddick. In fact, the last race won by Reddick, as he won five of the first nine races of the season, but hasn’t been able to put it all together to pick up a sixth victory. He could certainly use one here, as he, like many others, is falling further out of contention.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series Chase Standings
All 16 drivers who qualified for the Cup Series Chase will be in the running to win the championship for the duration of the postseason. The point totals were reset based on a new format, ranging from 2,100 to 2,000 to start the Chase.

Through three playoff races, we have had three different winners, as Bell, Larson, and Logano have taken checkered flags thus far. Perhaps Blaney should have been last week’s winner at Bristol, as he had a kerfuffle with Hocevar following the race. Blaney led the most laps, won Stage 2, and finished 33rd, while Hocevar finished third. Blaney accused Hocevar of crashing him. No penalties were handed out as a result of the fracas.
The race winners from the regular season were Reddick (5), Hamlin (4), Blaney (3), Chase Elliott (2), Shane van Gisbergen (2), Corey Heim (2), Gibbs (2), Logano (2), Suarez, Carson Hocevar, Briscoe, and Preece. Preece’s win stole van Gisbergen’s playoff spot from him, as it came at just the right time.
Larson’s points lead comes as a result of three top-five finishes, as he and his team have gotten hot at the right time. Larson didn’t win a regular-season race and only finished second once. Hamlin hasn’t finished better than eighth in the Chase, so he’s squandered some of his points advantage. Logano followed up his third-place finish two races ago with last week’s win at Bristol to leapfrog into third.
Hollywood Casino 400 Winners
As mentioned, Reddick won the spring race here, with Larson, Briscoe, Hamlin, and Wallace rounding out the top 10. Hamlin actually led the most laps and won Stage 1, while Larson won Stage 2. The reigning champion of this race is Elliott, who won in an overtime finish last year over Hamlin, Bell, Briscoe, and Wallace.
Kansas has been on the calendar twice-a-year since 2011, so we have a ton of data points here. If we cut it down to the last 10 races, Larson (5.3) and Hamlin (6.9) stand out as the highest average finishers. Larson is the only driver to have finished on the lead lap in all 10 of those races and he’s won three times with nine top-10 finishes. Hamlin has eight top-five finishes, one more than Larson, and also has nine top-10s with one win. Reddick joins Larson as the only other multiple winner on this track. It doesn’t look like the long shots have much hope this week.
