🏥 5 QB Questions Heading Into NFL Week 3
Injured quarterbacks are already having an impact on the betting markets heading into NFL Week 3.
Giants: Jaxson Dart injured his knee early in Monday night’s 28-6 loss to the Rams (-6.5). The early diagnosis is a sprain that will force him to miss time. The Giants are 6-point favorites vs. the Titans.
Bears: Caleb Williams is week-to-week with his hamstring injury, but the Bears aren’t ruling out his playing on MNF against the Eagles (-3.5).
Commanders: Jayden Daniels will seek more opinions about his dislocated left elbow, but expect Marcus Mariota to start against the Seahawks (-7).
Seahawks: Sam Darnold (hip) will practice Wednesday and may be able to play against the aforementioned Commanders.
Falcons: Michael Penix Jr., recovering from an ACL injury last season, will start against the Packers on TNF. The line has moved from Atlanta +7 to +6.5.
Adam Burke has gone through the opening Week 3 numbers and identified the early line moves that have his attention.

Dave Tuley’s ATS Report: Favorites finished Week 2 at 11-5 SU and 8-7-1 ATS. Unders went 10-6 after Giants-Rams stayed Under. Overall, favorites are 23-9 SU and 17-13-2 ATS, while Unders have taken a 16-15-1 edge.

VSiN Pro subscriber Charles M. sent me a good question last week:
When I look at Steve Makinen’s Power Ratings, in particular the Strength of Schedule, I am just checking to see if they are accurate.
For example: Ohio State has an SOS of 50.1 (10th hardest in country) yet Texas has an SOS of 17.2 (ranked 190th in country).
Steve had a good answer.
He doesn’t do a complete update to his power ratings and strength-of-schedule numbers until after Week 3 because he doesn’t want to overreact to a handful of early-season results.
Well, we’re headed to Week 4.
Steve has now made the adjustment.
