Florida vs. South Florida
It has been a highly emotional past two weeks for South Florida with the passing of coach Amir Abdul-Rahim and in a neutral-court game, they will do him proud and give a Florida team that was 216th in the nation in points allowed on a per-possession basis last season a battle.
South Florida +10
Iona vs. Princeton
Iona replaces 100% of last year’s scoring production after the team slipped below .500 for just the second time in the past 15 seasons. Their transfers include Northern Colorado’s Dejour Reeves, who is looking to build off of the 14.9 points and 38% 3-point shooting he registered last season. While Princeton was 14th in America in points scored on a per-possession basis last season, and return their top two scorers in Caden Pierce and Xavian Lee, who combined for 33.7 points per game, the team was 342nd among 362 Division I teams in total possessions per game last season and rebounded only 21.7% of their missed shots, which ranked 320th.
Iona +12
Chattanooga vs. USC
While USC looked impressive in their scrimmages against UT San Antonio and Gonzaga, this is still a team with a new coach in Eric Musselman and a roster made entirely of transfers that faces a veteran Chattanooga backcourt featuring Honor Huff and Trey Bonham, who back after both made at least 38% of their 3-point attempts and combined for 33.4 points per game.
Chattanooga +15
Holy Cross vs. Wisconsin
Wisconsin has ranked 271st or slower in total possessions per game in every season since the 2006-07 season and lost two of their three players that averaged at least 10 points per game last season. While Holy Cross was 352nd in points allowed on a per-possession basis last season, they should be improved in Year 2 under coach Dave Paulsen, with top rebounder Caleb Kennedy back after his 2.2 blocks per game ranked 27th among qualifying Division I players last season.
Holy Cross +25.5
UNC Asheville vs. Alabama
Alabama was great on offense and bad on defense last season, ranking second in points scored on a per-possession basis and 269th in points allowed on a per-possession basis. Though Rutgers transfer Cliff Omoruyi should fortify the defense, it should lead to Mark Sears building off the 21.5 points per game and 43.6% 3-point shooting he had a season ago. UNC Asheville was 38th in 3-point shooting percentage last season.
UNC Asheville vs. Alabama Over 161.5
