Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Monday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Monday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Carson Benge Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110 – 1.5 units) vs. Braves
Mets at Braves – 7:15 pm ET
I normally stick to a standard one-unit play with my hitter props, as I strongly believe I have a better feel for pitcher props. However, I love Benge to go Over 1.5 HRR tonight. The lefty slugger has gone Over this total in five consecutive games, and he’s averaging 2.0 HRR per game against right-handed starters this season. This is just the right matchup for a scorching hot hitter, plus I’m not the biggest fan of Bryce Elder. The 27-year-old is extremely hittable, even if he is much better at Truist Park.
MacKenzie Gore Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+109 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 8+ (+207 – 0.5 units) vs. Angels
Rangers at Angels – 9:38 pm ET
Gore has had at least seven strikeouts in two of his three starts against bottom-five strikeout rate teams this season. One of those was a seven-K outing against this Angels team on July 8. Well, I don’t see any reason Gore can’t get to seven strikeouts again. The lefty has been much worse pitching away from home this season, so that’s what we’re up against here. However, Los Angeles’ numbers are just miserable, making it hard to turn away from this. The Angels have a strikeout rate of 26.1% against lefties this season. That’s the highest mark in the league. They also have a whiff percentage of 27.5%.
Logan Henderson Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+108 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 7+ (+220 – 0.5 units) vs. Padres
Brewers at Padres – 9:40 pm ET
The Padres are pretty good about avoiding strikeouts, so this isn’t a great matchup for Henderson. However, the righty is in the 97th percentile in K% (32.3%) and 83rd percentile in Whiff% (28.7%) this season. He has some of the most unhittable stuff in the league, which is why he comes into this one having recorded at least seven strikeouts in three consecutive starts. With that in mind, I’ll take my chances with Henderson finding a way to miss some bats against a strong opponent.
Additional Picks
Mickey Moniak Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+120) vs. Diamondbacks
Freddy Peralta Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-122 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 6+ (+180 – 0.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 7+ (+454 – 0.25 units) vs. Athletics
