Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for July 1. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Our hosts and analysts will be all over the MLB, which is why it pays to be a VSiN Pro subscriber.

Wednesday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Wednesday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.

Matt Olson Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-131) vs. Cardinals

Cardinals at Braves – 7:15 pm ET

Olson hasn’t been as good against righties in recent weeks, but there’s a full season of numbers that tell us he crushes against these starters. When facing right-handed starters this season, Olson is averaging 2.3 hits, runs, and RBIs per game. So, in a meeting with Michael McGreevy, I like Olson to come up big at the plate.

Shane McClanahan Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+110) & Alt Strikeouts 6+ (+225 – 0.5 units) vs. Royals

Rays at Royals – 7:40 pm ET

McClanahan doesn’t look like the swing-and-miss pitcher he once was, but five Ks isn’t an unrealistic ask against the Royals. This Kansas City team has been good about avoiding strikeouts this year, but it’s a bad lineup overall. So, if McClanahan isn’t getting beat up, I’d expect him to do enough damage in the strikeouts column.

Heriberto Hernandez Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110) vs. Rockies

Marlins at Rockies – 8:40 pm ET

The Marlins have been scorching hot lately, so I want to get involved with someone in what should be a high-scoring game at Coors Field. Well, with lefty Kyle Freeland on the mound for Colorado, why not take Hernandez to go Over on HRR? The total is high at 2.5, but he’s hitting at the top of the lineup for the road team. He’ll get plenty of opportunities this evening.

Additional Picks

Nathan Lukes Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-108) vs. Mets

Trevor Larnach Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+108) vs. Astros

Trevor McDonald Over 3.5 Strikeouts (+105) vs. Diamondbacks
