Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for May 29. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Friday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Wilyer Abreu Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110) vs. Guardians
Red Sox at Guardians – 7:10 pm ET
Slade Cecconi will be taking his 5.30 ERA to the mound against the Red Sox tonight, and his presence on the hill made me want to grab a lefty bat. Well, I’ll take my chances with Abreu, who comes into this game averaging 1.9 combined hits, runs, and RBIs (HRR) per game when facing righties in road games. Abreu should be hitting third in the Boston order tonight, so he’ll likely have his opportunities to make things happen.
Nick Martinez Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (+100) vs. Angels
Angels at Rays – 7:10 pm ET
I have had some success playing Overs on Martinez’s K props this year, but I’m going with the righty to pitch at least 6.0 innings tonight. He has recorded exactly 18 outs in back-to-back starts coming into this one, and his 1.58 ERA through 10 starts is wildly impressive. Well, Martinez now takes the mound against an Angels team that really can’t hit. Los Angeles is just 21st in MLB in wRC+ (95). I’ll take my shot with Martinez cruising through this outing.
Christian Yelich Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-112) vs. Astros
Brewers at Astros – 8:10 pm ET
Yelich is in a nice groove entering tonight’s meeting with the Astros. The lefty slugger has recorded at least two HRR per game over the last three games. He is now averaging 2.1 HRR per game when facing right-handed starters this season, and I don’t see any reason he can’t find a way to get to righty Kawi-Wei Teng. I know that Teng has looked largely unhittable recently, but it feels unsustainable. So, I’m targeting lefty bats against him, with Yelich being the one that stands out.

Trevor Rogers Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+128) vs. Blue Jays
