Friday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Freddy Peralta Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+118) vs. Phillies
Rays at Phillies – 9:40 pm ET
This really hasn’t been a great season for Peralta, but it’s always tempting when you can get plus-money odds for him to go Over a low strikeout total. He’s coming off a six-strikeout game against the Red Sox, and he still has some decent stuff when his command is there. Well, Peralta faces a Phillies lineup that can occasionally struggle to make contact, and this is something of a low-pressure start considering the Rays don’t necessarily need to win. He should be loose when he gets out there, so I’m hoping he can whiff five here.
Jackson Jobe Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+124) vs. Pirates
Pirates at Tigers – 9:40 pm ET
Jobe is hot as a strikeout pitcher right now. He comes into this start having recorded at least seven Ks in each of his last three starts. Well, in tonight’s game, Jobe faces a Pittsburgh team with a strikeout rate of 23.3%. He didn’t take advantage of that the last time he faced the Pirates, but he should here.
Jake McCarthy Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+125) vs. White Sox
Rockies at White Sox – 10:40 pm ET
With the White Sox having celebrated making the playoffs, you have to wonder how locked in they’ll be tonight. That includes Sean Burke, who is starting. So, I’m taking a shot with McCarthy, who is averaging 2.2 HRR per game against righties. He’s also averaging 2.4 HRR per game against righties in the last 20 games.
