Time for my continuing experiment: Can I use Steve Makinen’s massive NFL and college football Analytics Reports — and nothing else — to find my own bets?

At least the NFL side delivered last week.

NFL: 2-0 last week, 2-3 season
College Football: 1-2 last week, 4-8 season

So, back at it.

I went through Steve’s NFL Week 3 and College Football Week 4 Analytics Reports looking for games where his systems, power ratings and trends had the strongest convergence. Then I checked those conclusions against the latest lines and DraftKings betting splits.

Here are the six that stood out:

NFL
• Lions -6.5 vs. Jets
• Colts +1.5 vs. Texans
• Rams-Broncos Under 44.5

College Football
• Illinois +27.5 at Ohio State
• Wyoming +3 vs. Hawaii
• Boston College +14 vs. Virginia Tech

🏈 Week 3 Opens With an Upset

The previously winless Falcons (+4.5) didn’t just beat Green Bay Thursday night.

They hammered the Packers 35-14 at Lambeau Field.

And I owe a couple of VSiN Community handicappers some credit.

Ryan Barrett and Derron Darcy both made the case for Atlanta on the moneyline yesterday.
