1:05 PM Eastern

Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals

Marlins starting pitcher Max Meyer has had a nice start to the season, posting a 2.97 ERA with 10 strikeouts per nine innings and only 0.7 home runs allowed per nine innings, while Nationals starting pitcher Andrew Alvarez has a 4.02 ERA in five appearances this season, going 4 1/3 innings or fewer in every appearance and is supported by a bullpen that ranks 22nd in ERA at 4.67.

Pick: Marlins Moneyline -104
Greg’s Handicap: Marlins -133

6:45 PM Eastern

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox

Red Sox starting pitcher Peyton Tolle has gotten off to a nice start to the season with a 2.61 ERA, recording 10 strikeouts per nine innings while allowing only 2.4 walks and 0.7 home runs per nine innings. He is supported by a bullpen that ranks third in ERA at 3.13. Orioles starting pitcher Chris Bassitt has a 5.06 ERA, but a lower 4.53 fielding independent with only 0.8 home runs allowed per nine innings and benefits from facing a Red Sox lineup that ranks last in scoring at home with 3.2 runs per game.

Pick: Orioles vs. Red Sox Under 9 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: 8.3

7:05 PM Eastern

Cleveland Guardians vs. New York Yankees

Guardians starting pitcher Gavin Williams has been nasty with a 3.07 ERA and 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings but faces a Yankees lineup that leads the league in scoring at home with 5.7 runs per game. Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole hasn’t allowed a run in 12 2/3 innings since coming off the injured list.

Pick: Yankees Run Line -1.5 +135
Greg’s Handicap: Yankees -1.5 -103

7:10 PM Eastern

Kansas City Royals vs. Cincinnati Reds

Reds starting pitcher Chris Paddack has struggled this season, posting a 6.90 ERA with 1.4 home runs and 3.1 walks allowed per nine innings. His start to the season with the Miami Marlins was so rough that he was designated for assignment. Royals starting pitcher Stephen Kolek owns a 3.48 ERA with only 1.7 walks per nine innings, but he is pitching to a lot of contact with just 5.5 strikeouts per nine innings. Both bullpens are shaky, as the Reds rank 27th in bullpen ERA at 5.00 while the Royals rank 28th at 5.08.

Pick: Royals vs. Reds Over 8.5 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: 9.1

7:40 PM Eastern

San Francisco Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb has been uncharacteristically shaky this season with a 4.82 ERA, though his 3.54 fielding independent and 0.7 home runs allowed per nine innings point toward better results ahead. He is supported by a lineup that, prior to a 19-run outburst at Coors Field against the Rockies, ranked last in the league in scoring. The Brewers had “to be announced” listed as their starting pitcher as of Tuesday evening, but they have a bullpen that ranks seventh in ERA at 3.25 and will likely give rookie Coleman Crow some innings. In his small sample size at the big league level, Crow has a 3.14 ERA with 0.6 home runs and 1.9 walks allowed per nine innings.

Pick: Giants vs. Brewers Under 8 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: 7.6

8:05 PM Eastern

Athletics vs. Chicago Cubs

Cubs starting pitcher Colin Rea owns a 4.70 ERA with a slightly lower 4.57 fielding independent this season, allowing 1.4 home runs and three walks per nine innings. Athletics starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs owns a 4.07 ERA and 4.71 fielding independent with 1.6 home runs allowed and 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings and is supported by an Athletics bullpen that ranks 21st in ERA at 4.49, while the Cubs rank ninth at 3.46.

Pick: Cubs Moneyline -125
Greg’s Handicap: Cubs -146

9:38 PM Eastern

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Angels

Rockies starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen has struggled to a 7.22 ERA this season with 1.6 home runs and 3.1 walks allowed per nine innings, but he has performed much better away from home, with his ERA dropping to 5.04 compared to 9.67 at home. He faces an Angels offense that ranks 27th in scoring at home with fewer than 3.6 runs per game, while the Rockies rank 25th in road scoring with 3.9 runs per game. Angels starting pitcher Walbert Ureña owns a 2.44 ERA with only 0.6 home runs allowed per nine innings.

Pick: Rockies vs. Angels Under 8.5 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: 8.1

9:40 PM Eastern

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen has had a plethora of issues this season, posting a 5.16 ERA with only 6.4 strikeouts per nine innings. The majority of his struggles have come on the road, where he owns a 7.57 ERA with more than 2.3 home runs allowed per nine innings compared to a 3.09 ERA and 0.8 home runs allowed per nine innings at home. Dodgers starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani owns a microscopic 0.82 ERA with 0.3 home runs allowed per nine innings and 10 strikeouts per nine innings while being supported by a bullpen that ranks seventh in ERA at 3.19.

Pick: Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks Under 9 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: 8.2
