Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Saturday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Saturday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’m going to keep these much shorter to cut down on my workload a little.
Jared Jones Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+104 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 7+ (+215 – 0.5 units) vs. Reds
Reds at Pirates – 4:05 pm ET
Jones has been absolutely killing me this year. Every time I take the Over on his strikeouts, he starts the game out extremely hot and then completely fades away. However, I’m putting some faith in him to deliver this afternoon. The Reds have a strikeout rate of 24.9% and a whiff percentage of 26.6%. This is a fantastic matchup.
Davis Martin Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-139) vs. Royals
Royals at White Sox – 4:10 pm ET
I normally like going Over with Martin’s strikeout totals, but this feels like a good spot to go Under. While the odds are hard to stomach at -139, Martin has had fewer than six strikeouts in four of his last five starts. Also, while the Royals are a lousy team, they’re not awful when it comes to avoiding strikeouts. Martin only had three Ks against them back on April 10.
Nico Hoerner Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+118) vs. Brewers
Cubs at Brewers – 7:10 pm ET
This season, Hoerner is averaging 2.2 hits, runs, and RBIs (HRR) per game when facing left-handed starters. That said, while the Brewers have a good one on the mound in Kyle Harrison, I’ll take my chances with the Cubs second basemen at +118 odds. He has only faced Harrison once in his career, but he had a double in that game.
Additional Picks
Gerrit Cole Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+132) vs. Red Sox
Kevin McGonigle Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-125) vs. Astros
Mike Paredes Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-115) vs. Rockies
Randy Vasquez Over 3.5 Strikeouts (+118) & Alt Strikeouts 5+ (+275 – 0.5 units) vs. Dodgers
Matt Olson Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-111) vs. Giants
