Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Sunday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’m going to keep these much shorter to cut down on my workload a little.
Emmet Sheehan Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+109) vs. White Sox
Dodgers at White Sox – 2:10 pm ET
Six strikeouts might seem like a lot for Sheehan, who has had three or fewer in three of his last four starts. However, he is averaging 5.3 strikeouts per game, and this is a perfect matchup. The White Sox have the fourth-worst strikeout rate (23.8%) in MLB, and they have a league-worst whiff percentage (27.9%).
Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Total Bases (-109) vs. Royals
Astros at Royals – 2:10 pm ET
In Alvarez’s last 15 games against right-handed starters, the lefty slugger has gone Over 1.5 total bases 10 times. He’s also averaging 3.4 total bases per game in this stretch, and I just don’t see any reason to go away from him today.
Jeff McNeil Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125) vs. Rockies
Rockies at Athletics – 3:05 pm ET
McNeil has been slumping for the Athletics recently, and there’s no guarantee he’ll play this afternoon. However, he does have some enticing odds in a game with a total of 14. I’ll grab this and hope for the best. He’s a solid hitter.
