6:40 p.m. ET: Cleveland Guardians at Detroit Tigers (-125, 8)
The Tigers (59-60) won last night’s series opener 6-4, hanging on as -140 home favorites.
In tonight’s rematch, the Guardians (58-62) start recently acquired lefty Foster Griffin (12-4, 3.31 ERA) and the Tigers counter with fellow southpaw Framber Valdez (7-7, 4.17 ERA).
This line opened with Detroit listed as a -125 home favorite and Cleveland a +105 road dog.
Sharps have quietly sided with the Tigers laying short chalk at home, as Detroit has either remained at -125 or crept up to -130 or even -135 at a few shops across the market. In other words, the line has only shown liability toward the chalk side.
At Circa, Detroit is taking in 73% of moneyline bets and 95% of moneyline dollars, a one-way “low bets, higher dollars” Pro and Joe bet split in favor of the home team.
Detroit offers correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (8), with the fewer amount of expected runs scored more likely to come from the “better” team who is expected to win.
The Tigers have the better bats, hitting .243 with 545 runs scored compared to the Guardians hitting .233 with only 477 runs scored. Detroit is hitting .283 since the All Star Break (2nd in MLB) while the Guardians are hitting .247 (12th).
The Tigers are hitting .236 against lefties (20th) while the Guardians are hitting .225 (28th).
Valdez has posted a 1.29 ERA in his last two starts, allowing only 2 earned runs in 14 innings pitched (both wins).
On the other hand, Griffin just got lit up in his Guardians debut, allowing 5 earned runs over 4 innings pitched in a 13-6 loss to the Mets.
Detroit is 31-27 at home. Cleveland is 30-31 on the road.
7 p.m. ET: Seattle Mariners at New York Yankees (-125, 8.5)
The Yankees (67-52) took last night’s series opener 4-1, cashing as -135 home favorites.
In tonight’s rematch, the Mariners (56-64) send out righty Bryce Miller (4-6, 3.08 ERA) and the Yankees turn to fellow righty Will Warren (8-6, 4.18 ERA).
This line opened with New York listed as a -120 home favorite and Seattle a +100 road dog.
Sharps have jumped on the Yankees to earn another victory laying short chalk at home, pushing New York up from -120 to -125 or even -130 at some shops across the market.
At Circa, New York is taking in 83% of moneyline bets and 91% of moneyline dollars, a notable “low bets, higher dollars” sharp split in their favor from the Vegas professionals.
Sweet spot home favorite priced between -125 and -140 who made the playoffs the previous season facing an opponent who also made the playoffs the previous season, like the Yankees here, are 61-31 (66%) with a 17% ROI since 2025.
When the line moves in their favor, the Yankees are 41-22 (65%) with an 8% ROI this season, the 4th most profitable line move team in MLB.
New York has the more productive offense, scoring 535 runs compared to 463 for Seattle.
Warren has posted a 3.88 ERA at home compared to 4.45 on the road.
On the other hand, Seattle is 0-5 in Miller’s last five starts. He has a 4.02 ERA on the road compared to 2.09 at home.
The Yankees are 30-26 at home and 44-33 in night games. Conversely, the Mariners are 23-35 on the road and 32-44 in night games.
7:15 p.m. ET: New York Mets at Atlanta Braves (-175, 8.5)
This is the rubber match of a three-game series.
The Mets (53-68) won the opener 8-5, coming through as +130 road dogs. Then the Braves (72-48) bounced back with a 4-0 win yesterday, taking care of business as -125 home favorites.
In tonight’s series finale, the Mets hand the ball to lefty Zac Thornton (3-2, 2.52 ERA) and the Braves rebuttal with recently acquired righty Tyler Mahle (3-9, 4.83 ERA).
This line opened with Atlanta listed as a -155 home favorite and New York a +135 road dog.
Sharps have gotten down hard on the Braves to earn a win and take the series, steaming Atlanta up from -155 to -175.
At Circa, the Braves are receiving 63% of moneyline bets and 66% of moneyline dollars, a “low bets, higher dollars” discrepancy indicating slight public support but also notable smart money in their favor from the wiseguys in the desert.
When favored at home and receiving at least 10-cents of steam in their direction, Atlanta has gone 16-7 (70%) with a 10% ROI this season.
The Braves have the edge offensively, hitting .248 with 585 runs scored compared to the Mets hitting .235 with 507 runs scored.
Atlanta is hitting .259 at home (6th best in MLB) while New York is hitting .238 on the road (19th).
Mahle impressed in his Braves debut, allowing zero earned runs over 6 innings pitched in a 3-2 extra innings loss to the Yankees.
Atlanta is 40-21 at home and 52-32 in night games. New York is 28-34 on the road and 29-42 in night games.
