NBA Best Bets Today – Tuesday, January 20

Bulls -3.5 (-110) vs. Clippers

Clippers at Bulls – 8:00 pm ET

The Clippers were able to win last night, but a two-point victory over the Wizards isn’t that inspiring. Los Angeles is now set to play a road back-to-back, and the team will be doing that without Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers had to send the superstar back to California to try and get the swelling in his knee down, and the timing is absolutely brutal. Leonard had been playing as well as anyone in the league, and Los Angeles is trying to play its way into a playoff spot.

Now, the rest spot presents some problems for the Clippers. They’re just 17-22 against the spread under Ty Lue when playing road games in back-to-back days. And without Leonard, there’s just a lot on James Harden’s shoulders. Harden had 36 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds last night, and we know he’s going to have nights where he absolutely goes off. However, Harden is also a little older at this point in his career, so I’m not sure you can count on him to do it every night.

The Bulls also like to play fast, so they’re going to look to push the tempo. And if Josh Giddey is back — which seems possible — then the Chicago offense could give LA some issues. If the Clippers have tired legs, this isn’t the right matchup for them.
