⚽ One Last Day Before The Knockout Round
My feeling on the last day of World Cup group play is the same as after the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
I hate to see it end because I’ve loved having games on all day.
But now it’s time to watch the real contenders battle it out.
Before we get there, one final day of group-stage drama awaits.
Today’s menu (Circa odds):
Group L (5 p.m. ET)
Panama vs. England
Croatia vs. Ghana
Motivation: England (4 points) clinches first place with a victory and also stays ahead of Ghana with a draw based on goal differential. Ghana (4) is all but through. Croatia (3) is in strong position to advance. Panama (0) has been eliminated.
Group K (7:30 p.m. ET)
Colombia vs. Portugal
Congo DR vs. Uzbekistan
Motivation: Colombia (6) wins the group with a victory or draw. Portugal (4) is all but through and can capture first place by beating Colombia. Congo DR (1) needs a victory to keep its third-place hopes alive. Uzbekistan (0) would need a win and a miracle after beginning the day with a minus-7 goal differential.
